Donor types and services
Cascade Cryobank offers two identity-disclosure options: Open ID and Early Disclosure. With Open ID donors, donor-conceived offspring may request identifying information when they reach age 18. The bank’s Early Disclosure Program allows parents to obtain donor identity information after a live birth is reported and provides a structured pathway for potential donor-parent contact, including counselor-facilitated support when both parties agree.
Donor profiles are available through the online donor catalogue. Basic information can be viewed without registration, while free account registration provides access to full profiles including photographs, personality information, medical history, hobbies, goals, childhood memories and staff impressions. Available vial categories include IUI, ICI, IUI A.R.T., ICI A.R.T. and IVF/ICSI.
Cascade Cryobank primarily serves the United States and offers international shipping on request. International distribution is subject to destination-country requirements and donor eligibility. The bank applies an internal limit of 25 families worldwide per donor and follows country-specific requirements for internationally distributed donors.

Genetic test panel
All donors undergo karyotype/chromosome analysis and expanded prenatal genetic carrier screening covering more than 700 genes. Cascade Cryobank states that donor-specific testing covers 714 recessive genetic conditions. The screening includes major conditions such as Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Sickle Cell Anemia, Alpha and Beta Thalassemia, Tay-Sachs disease, Cystic Fibrosis and Fragile X syndrome.
Donor screening also includes a clinical and physical examination, four-generation family medical history, psychological evaluation and interview, criminal and educational background checks, semen analysis, ABO/Rh blood typing, hemoglobinopathy testing and infectious-disease screening. Specimens are quarantined for at least six months, after which donors are retested for specified infectious diseases before release.
Cascade Cryobank is registered/accredited, certified, inspected and/or licensed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), CLIA and the Washington State Department of Health. Donor eligibility is also assessed with reference to American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) recommendations.
