Donor types and services
European Sperm Bank (ESB) offers both ID-Release and Non-ID Release donors and provides richly detailed donor profiles, accessible to registered users. These profiles include physical traits (height, weight, blood type, ethnicity, eye and hair colour), baby photos, family background, hobbies, education, personality traits, and a “staff impression” that reflects fertility team observations. Additionally, many donors include hand-drawn adult portraits created by a Danish artist, available under each donor’s image gallery. Furthermore, ESB offers a free photo-matching tool and a “Personality Explorer”, which allows users to match with donors based on personality types, adding another intuitive layer to the selection process. ESB provides sperm in both IUI and ICI straws, with varying motility levels, to suit different insemination methods and clinical needs.
Genetic test panel
Donors undergo genetic testing for: Cystic Fibrosis, Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), Hemoglobinopathies (Alpha- and Beta-thalassemia, Sickle cell disease). European Sperm Bank also offers three extended genetic test panels, allowing for broad carrier screening beyond the standard. test.
