The World Egg and Sperm Bank
Description
Founded in the United States, The World Sperm Bank (TWSB) claims to provide one of the largest international donor sperm programs. With a focus on accessibility, safety, and personalized support, TWSB supplies donor sperm both to fertility clinics and directly to individuals for home insemination (where legally permitted). The bank emphasizes transparency and diverse donor selection, supporting families worldwide on their path to parenthood. The World Sperm Bank’s mission and vision are to make donor sperm accessible to people across the globe while ensuring the highest standards of genetic testing, donor transparency, and client care. Their goal is to help individuals and couples achieve parenthood safely, reliably, and with confidence. TWSB ships worldwide, coordinating with fertility clinics in multiple countries to comply with local laws and regulations. Clients can also order vials directly for at-home insemination in regions where it is legally allowed.
Donor types and services
The World Sperm Bank exclusively works with Open ID (ID-Release) donors. Donor-conceived individuals may request identifying information once they reach legal adulthood (typically 18). Profiles include physical characteristics, ethnic background, education, interests, personality traits, medical and family history, as well as childhood and current (adult) photos that show the donor’s face. While personal names and contact information are never shared with recipients, identifying details can be released to donor-conceived individuals once they turn 18, if requested. TWSB offers sperm in IUI and ICI vials, with different motility levels, suitable for home insemination, IUI in clinics, and IVF/ICSI treatments.
Genetic test panel
The World Sperm Bank conducts thorough genetic and health screening of all donors, including: Sema4 Expanded Carrier Screen (ECS) analyzing over 400 genes via blood testing. Screening for Cystic Fibrosis, SMA, Thalassemia, Sickle Cell disease, and other inherited disorders.
